You’re really excited for the photo shoot you have scheduled, and then you realize you actually have to get everyone ready. I’m here to tell you it’s possible to get ready for your photo shoot without all the stress. Check out the tips below to help you on the day of your photo shoot.

1) Choose outfits ahead of time

Use the session guide you receive from me to get started on choosing outfits or head to my Instagram stories to check out color schemes.  Then we can touch base to help you narrow down choices and make final decisions.

2) Prep family members for having a good time

If getting ready doesn’t turn into a stressful mess, you are heading into the car and to your session on the right track and in a good mood.  That makes a difference!  When everyone is feeling relaxed and ready to have a good time it will show through in your photos.

3) Bring clothes in the car for kids if necessary

You don’t need to worry about wrinkles from car seats or a drink or snack spill if they aren’t wearing the clothes. Once you get to the location take a few minutes to get everyone settled and into their photo session clothes. Then let out a big sigh knowing that everyone is dressed and ready to go!

4) Bring snacks for AFTER, not during

Kids are little snack hounds and they will know if there are snacks available during the session… and that’s what they will focus on instead of the camera. You can have something for them to look forward to after the session… I’m not above bribery!

5) Give yourself more time than you think you’ll need (especially mama)

Whatever time you think you need to start getting ready for your photo shoot, start 15 minutes earlier than that. Something always takes an extra couple of minutes when you’re getting ready for a photo shoot – someone lost a shoe, needs a snack, etc. If an issue sets you back a few minutes you won’t need to stress because you already have the 15 minute buffer.

Give these tips a quick peek before your next photo shoot so you set yourself up for success!
